April Fools?

Dear Students…

We wish we could inform you that was an April Fool’s joke, however this is no prank!  Earlier this month UC San Diego offered admission to approximately 17,000 of the 46,377 applicants for the Fall of 2009.  On Monday afternoon, an school official sent an email from the school’s communications office to the entire 46,277 applications — including the 29,000 rejects — congratulating and welcoming them to the campus!  Needless to say, school officials realized the mistake 1/2 hour later and shot a second email back “un-accepting” the mistaken applicants.

The official who make this undenial mistake is currently in the midst of submitting her story to FML and pitching the next “Wanna Get Away” commercial to the Southwest executives.  We wish her the best of luck!
